We all paid to get in to look at a very small collection of allegedly interesting cars, meet people that we probably already knew and fail to find any useful parts for our cars from the very limited number of dealers present. That's the few who actually deal in parts for the older Lotus (notably, SJS weren't present although Mike T. made up for it with his collection of used parts - I reckon he had nearly 3 complete sets of mechanicals around his tables
There was no "focal point" as far as I could see. There were no obvious places to meet other owners, no talks or displays about Lotus history and future developments, and even Classic Team Lotus were having trouble getting their cars to start.
Value for money ? I don't think so, frankly it was a damn cheek asking us to pay to get in when the whole thing seemed to be about selling Elises, Exiges and modifications for them.
Would have been better just turning up and erecting a gazebo in the car park so we could all have a party ? - probably. Best bit, for me, was the gathering in the museum car park and the short convoy drive (see video posting later tonight).
