Cleaning Plastic Trim Panels

Post by muphy »

May have been discussed before but what a god awful job getting the old glue and yellow decayed foam off the various trim panels in preparation for recovering with head lining.

Materials I have used:

2 litres of Cellulose Thinners
stainless steel pot scrubbers
"scotch-brite" style pot scrubbers
lint-free cloths from Costco
skin
100ml blood (when scrubbing beware of rusty metal tangs)

Here are some pics of finished and not so finished pieces.

p.s. Interested in how folk find the flickr links. Trying to group & manage my photo journals better.
