Greetings Fellow Enthusiasts!

Post by PeterK »

Hi everybody,

Posting this item as an introduction, I have had various Lotus's over the years, current holding is a 92 SE in Pacific Blue and a 91 Elan M100 in the same colour.

I bought the Excel in Jan 08 to be used as an everyday car for work, I got fed up of the depeciation experienced with a string of Scooby's!. Flash of inspiration.........buy something that's at the bottom value wise and work upwards.

After raiding my National Savings account on sorting out the mechanicals (many thanks to Gerald and his team at GST Performance, Newmarket) I've covered 30K miles so far. After putting it off for so long the respray is almost complete and then back on the road again.

For ardent spotters this car makes frequent trips to the North East and South West, it's always nice to see the occasional Excel and exchange a wave; at one time all Lotus drivers used to acknowledge each other though it seems to be waning!

Happy days

PeterK

Hi Peter, glad to hear from another multiple-model owner, although I personally don't have an M100 (yet).

Quite agree Peter! I flashed an addmitidly young looking guy in an Elise last week. No response what-so-ever and a puzzled look on his face as he passed! Perhaps he was too young to know about beautiful Excels!

Hi Peter

Good to know there is another in Cambridgeshire. Not seen you about yet. I use mine 2/3 times a week but mainly into Cambridge with occasional trips to Peterborough and Bishops Stortford.

GST also got mine sorted and keep it going and the best bit is seeing what else is in at the time.

Let us know when you're heading up the NE - there's an enclave of Pacific Blues around the Tyne and a rarer Monaco White a little further south.
