Short MoT, says may need respray.
I'd like to get an experienced opinion from someone who knows it, if possible.
Thanks

Re: Anyone know this car?
It looks like good buy but it depends on your abilities, what are you like on the spanners, and are you looking to keep it or make a buck?
Its too far away for me to look but we do have a few members out that way. Check the history carefully, the miles could have a 1 in front of it but if its been looked after dont let it put you off. You need to know when the cambelt was changed getting that wrong could be expensive. The leather can be treated to feed and colour and would look like new after. If the laquar is peeling it might be savable without a respray, but essentially they are a simple car by modern standards and everything can be bought including doorbeams and window frames, some of the few steel bits and they rust. The chassis is galvanised and rarely give problems.
Its a good time to buy one, they made 5 times as many esprits than excels and remaining numbers reflect that.
Hope this helps and this is the best site for anything you need to know without hoping to get a sensible answer like on facebook

You can learn a lot from online MOT checkers. Looks like it's done only a rew hundred miles each year for the last few years. Was off the road for 18 months back on 2009/ 10. If you can get the log book number from seller, you can learn even more ( like where in the country it was each year for MOT).
A few failures but nothing too worrying.

Re: Anyone know this car?
Thanks Bash, yes.
The seller is working on behalf of the late owners wife. He's now done a series of detailed photos.
The car is by no means perfect but may be a useable car with some work to tidy it up.
I owned one a few years ago briefly, best gearbox I've had in 51 years of driving but also the leakiest, damp smelling car too.
Watching it and will make my bid when I feel right.

Well I'd made a couple of bids on it, there was at least one other person interested but he's sold it to someone outside of the auction today.
