Lotus Christmas card

Post by Tanz »

Tim Densham who used to work for Lotus and comes to Club Lotus meetings sent me a thirty year old Christmas card that he found in his office. They used to send them to suppliers. Just thought it might be of interest to folks. The last image is interesting as it is the Etna - confirmed by Oliver Winterbottom when I showed it to him.

That's just lovely! :D
I have made many mistakes in my life. Getting a Lotus wasn't one of them.

Merry Christmas.
I've noticed they have used a picture of an Excel with 15" Speedlines and flared front arches instead of an original 1982 spec model. The Esprit has the Wolf race wheels of a 1975 S1. The card has the black bonnet badge at the top so I guess it's 1985?

Just noticed that the Excel 'A' post is at steeper angle than the Elite/Eclat and that the windscreen looks flatter.

Windscreens are not interchangeable then?

It also looks as though the Excel is the only Lotus with a windscreen wiper.

However, let's not be picky - it is a great card intended to convey Christmas greetings rather than technical blueprints (i.e. done by Marketing!)

Certainly agree on the age but looks like the pre-black and gold wickens .
Looks like the green and gold pudding (C to D reg) as the bumpers on the cars on the card are definitely black.
