Excel wiper arms

Post by carlp »

Hi,

The wiper mounting pin on my Excel is a bit of a lose fit so the wiper blade can 'wobble'. Is it possible to replace just the tip of the wiper arm or do I need to buy a complete arm? If so does anybody know if the arm was used on any other cars?

Thanks
Carl

I just replaced mine with a small screw a few washers and double nutted it so it doesn't come loose. A stop nut would probably work just as well. Has been set up like this for 2 years without issues and holds the arm rather firm laterally but with enough free play to adjust to the windshield profile. I painted the hardware black after test fit and before final install. It's also serviceable to replace the blade as needed. I think I had to open the holes up on the arm very slightly to make it work.
