My car really doesn't like the idea of Raby in August for some reason.
Seat back adjuster has failed today and, because of carpal tunnel problems, I'm really struggling to get the last nut off the seat so I can take it out of the car and rebuild it.
I don't suppose any kindly passing NEasterner or Yorkie might be able to help? The nut is turning, but tight because of rust. It's most of the way there, but the last few turns are painful.
Also - does anyone have a "spare" driver's seat recline adjuster mech they could let me have (in case Lotusbits don't have one available)?
HELP!

Re: HELP!
Hi Angus,
I could call over and give you a hand.
Give me a day/time whats best for yourself and we can work from that.
I presume the bolt head and nut are still sound? or may need something to cut it off (Dremel), let me know if you think we need anything special.
Sorry don't have the part you are looking for.
Keith.

Re: HELP!
Thanks Keith. Bolt is fine - just a bit of corrosion on the bottom of the thread. Nuts are all a bit rusty on the outside but I've got 3 off with a 13mm socket without any real problems. This last one is just requiring a bit more force than I can exert without extreme pain at the moment to clear the last few thread turns (it's already part way down) - mainly because it's the hardest one to reach - front left (i.e. front and inboard).
It should only take 5 mins or so.
I'm "working at home" today and tomorrow (with no plans to go anywhere 'cos the car's undriveable until I get this sorted) so whenever is good for. Coffee and biscuits will be provided along with a huge dollop of gratitude.
Once the seat is out, I should be able to refit it OK as long as I remember to clean up the threads.

Re: HELP!
Just seen this...
If you're still stuck I'm happy to pop over from Richmond (in the Excel, not on the bike!) ..I've also got a nut splitter and IRWIN 'rounded nut removers', 3/8 drive breaker bar and shallow single hex 13 mm/1/2 inch AF sockets if that helps.

Re: HELP!
Y'know - Wedge owners really are a very nice bunch. That's 3 offers of help within a few minutes of me sending up the flares. Thank you all.
Keith has just dropped by and, in 5 minutes, done what felt like it was going to take me 4 or 5 hours and a new arm to achieve.
Seat is now out. Just need the replacement mech. from Lotusbits and a few other bits and pieces that I'd already ordered to rebuild the squab suspension unit (fancy name for a bit of rubber sheet with some hooks in it).

Re: HELP!
---->
Rubber sheet is there to give a little bit of extra support and discourage the "flexators" from tearing through the "seat suspension unit" like they did to the old one. Replacement flexator is two bits of 1mm stainless spring steel rod bound together with insulating tape.
(seat rail threads have been cleaned up so it should be an easy re-fit tomorrow morning)
Just waiting for the repair kit to fill in the tears and a few cracks, but it should be usable and much more comfortable now.
