Both fans in my non se excel have stoped working.
I’m presuming the fans have failed as I have eliminated the fan speed control and still no fan noise.
Has anyone replace there fans? are the easy to get two or is it removing the whole air box?
Any advise would be great

Re: Non se heater fans
You need to remove the entire heater because they are within the main housing. It's a big job which is why I've been putting off doing mone for two years!
Kind regards

Re: Non se heater fans
If yours has the later Toyota based heater the fan is reasonably easy to remove via the passenger footwell. I’d be checking the switch, relay and plug behind the glove box first though. In my case the plug terminals had corroded. Easy fix.

It's not-its the early heater system with twin fans.
Kind regards

Re: Non se heater fans
Hi John,
If both have failed, it's more likely to be a power issue imho. Check the fuse and all electrical & switch connections as suggested; otherwise you can see the fans by removing the glovebox and instrument panel but not sure access is good enough to remove them.
Good luck, Richard

Re: Non se heater fans
Hi John I had same problem nearly took mine to bits, when I finally found it, it was the fan speed control resistance unit located/mounted in the top of fan unit (actually in it) to cool heater resistances and held in with a single screw. Found mine badly corroded and burnt out it can be accessed through back of the glove box..Ray

The fans cannot be accessed without removing the whole dash because they are covered with a full width fibreglass moulding that is joined to another lower moulding. I have a full heater unit out of another car and other than the control cables and matrix outlets, it is all sealed in. I cannot see a way to access the internals without full removal. I can supply pics to prove.
Kind regards
