Garage clearout (another)

Post by AndyLotus »

Hi,
Just trying to make some space so have quite a few bits to get shot of.
All parts are from a 1987 SE. If you require photos then pm me an e-mail address I'll send some.
Collection is from Congresbury, about 10 minutes from Junction 21 of the M5. Some bits are small enough to post so will have to find out costs.

* Original ‘Personal’ steering wheel including centre crash pad but no boss - The wheel rim itself is not great with the leather being cracked around the top where the sun has got to it. The thumb pads have also lifted away a little but could be re-glued. £35

* Original wooden gear knob with 1, 2, 3, 4, O/D & R on the top - It will need stripping back and re-varnishing. Internal thread is fine. SOLD

* Original wooden seat tilt knobs. (x3) - They will need stripping back and re-varnishing. SOLD

* Original pair of internal black plastic coat hooks that attach to the B pillar. Includes fixings. £5

* Original Lucas Rev limiter (states 7100 rpm on label on back) Was working on my car 3 years ago but has sat in the garage since then so I can’t guarantee it. I can’t test it either as I now have mapped ignition. £5

* Centre exhaust pipe without the centre silencer. Was bought from SJ Sportscars. Supposedly stainless but has surface rust all over. It could easily be wire brushed and painted with heat resistant paint. £25

* Drivers door latch – Suitable for spares only as a part of the mechanism is missing. £5

* Passenger door latch – All working, was bought from Lotusbits but never used as I fixed mine. SOLD

* Cam tensioner mounting plate – bolts to the front of the engine block. £5

* Leather driver’s seat in black – only suitable for total refurb. Free to anyone who can collect.

* Eaton M62 supercharger – ideal size for Lotus engine. Unfortunately as I have aircon, not matter how hard I try I cannot get it to fit anywhere. Was taken from a working Mercedes SLK and is in good condition. £200 (you know you want to  )

Cheers,

Andy.

Just remembered, also have an original Lucas 3M100 starter motor. (Pre '88).
Was working fine on my car before I swapped to a lightweight starter. Pinion in good condition. £25.

Could certainly use a wooden seat knob Andy. Re-finishing is not a problem to me. Please let me know the cost of p&p so that I can make payment (by whatever means suits you).

A seat knob would be perfect if you still have one?

Really sorry Nigel, the seat knobs were sold yesterday.

Lotusbits would probably have one.

Hi,

If anyone wants to make an offer for the bits remaining, please do.

After that I shall stick the remainder on e-bay. (Have to pay for the re-spray somehow!)

Cheers,

Andy.

Does the cam chain mounting plate also support the aircon compressor? I'm restoring an Elite and want to use the aluminium compressor rather than the super-heavy steel original, but I'm not sure if the plate you're offering will do it.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

I'm afraid the cam tensioner plate doesn't have the air con compressor mount. This one is only available as I swapped to a mount that includes the compressor mounting myself. I needed it for my air con retro-fit.

I got the compressor mounting plate and ac tensioner pulley from PNM, he may be worth a try. Also I seem to remember Gary Kemp (Lotus engine guru) thought he had one.

Hi Paul,

I will have to investigate postage costs on the starter motor. I have a feeling that it won't be cheap as it is pretty heavy.
I'll be in touch.

Cheers.

I can arrange a courier from this end if it helps?
