TYres for SE

Post by davidkl »

have followed discussion about 215/50/15 with interest and now I need to buy. I have new Toyo 205/50/15s on front but now need to replace the rears. Have narrowed it down to 225/50/15 Toyo or 215/50/15 Dunlop 6000 from Mytyre in Germany.
Toyos at £84 and Dunlops at £119. Suggestions please unless you are tyred of the topic :?:
Thanks David K

Hi David, I bought the Dunlops from MyTyres great service arrived in three days, and I wanted to keep to the correct size tyre for the car so it had to be 215/50/15 Dunlops. Cheers Keith

I've just put a pair of 205 50 15 Avon ZV5s on, initial thought are they seem a lot better than the old hard 205 50 15 Bridgestones and old hard P8000s that were on for a short time, but it's always difficult to compare old tyres and new tyres as the tyres get harder and so grip less with age.

For what it's worth: Mike Taylor at LotusBits recommends Toyos, and he's done a good amount of reseach.
I have Toyo 205's fitted, front & back, and they seem fine - but then I'm not a track-day person and I don't test their absolute limits :-)
