Fitting rear seat belts

Post by salviablue »

Hello again,
Anybody retro-fitted rear seat belts to their excel?
I haven't looked yet but according to the guy that rebuilt/refurbed the body, the original mounts where rotten through and the owner told him not to bother renewing them, thus the rebuild/refurb was conducted with out them, including rear trim.

Can't find anything about seat belts in the s.n. or anywhere else for that matter (rear).

Regards

Yes cheers, I had found that one before I got the car, couldn't seem to find it again!

Where does the inertia reel bit fit to/and what does the top of the strap go round?

Cheers

Are you saying you have no rear seat belts at all?

The brackets that go rotton are just attached to the bottom mounting of the belt. You don't need to disturb the inertia reel bit at all

I took the rear seats out last night and the reels are still there. One has most of the belt attached and the other just a stump. I'll have to look into getting new ones. Any one had experience fitting new belts.

Cheers.

Because they are hidden, this is a breaker's yard job.

As long as you get the length of the belt, and the wire tunnel bits are the right length, a lot of seat belts will probably fit.
