front fog lights wont work

help please ! front fogs wont come on tested fuse, tested switch have power there and out, all other lights work rear fogs head lights etc. Also my wire colours to my switch seem different to the manual red and light green. is there a relay somewhere again i cannot find one in the manual for front fogs :? my car is an 86 excel non se

check your other switches have the "right" cable colours... you will probably find you have 2 of the switched over, at a guess the heated rear screen... let us know how you get on...

Did the lights work before on your car?
Carefully check the contacts of the switch for any defects (you might have to open it), mine melted due to the high current going through the switch. So I always carry a spare until I find a time to wire the relay.

Had a similar problem with my 85 non SE found it to be one of the wires on the brightness adjuster on the left had come off and for some reason this stopped the fogs from working

:D turned out to be a bad earth. the connecter at the back of the indicator was badly corroded same both sides. was a pain to get at though. thanks to everyone for your help/advice much appreciated.
