1988 Excel on Ebay

Post by GARY1958 »

My Excel has a very good engine but needs a respray and some minor bodywork damage repaired. So, I'm thinking use this car below and then swap my engine! However, I have never taken an engine out but i'm good with a spanner. I do have a garage and could use GF's drive - but does it make sense to do it? What colour is this blue?

If it really is just an engine swap you could do it in a day ...

Makes sense? Who knows ... I saw the car too and thought the same, my paintwork is really crap (no damage, just bad clear coat lifting)!

I just can't bear to scrap the rest of my car, too sentimental after 11 years!

Mine is in this colour, its called Steel Blue. I can best describe it as mix of grey and blue. That is sometimes it looks greyish and a bit drab, but when the suns out and its been cleaned and polished the blue comes through.
John,
Lotus Excel 1990, Steel Blue
Lotus Elan S2 1995, Blue
