1986 Lotus Excel SE SOLD

Time to make space for ramps.
I am moving on the 86 SE I have had for a while as I have not used it since moving in to my new place. The likelihood of getting round to giving it any attention this year is remote at best.
I used this regularly until recently.
It is an original car and will require relatively little to bring back to full health. It would be a shame to lose an original car to what I have planned for it and I have replaced it with a far worse condition vehicle that warrants the work.
I want to move it on mainly to prevent it from being broken for parts either by myself or others as most of you are aware it is worth far more in bits

Took it for an MOT at the end of last year just to see what was rearing its head.
3 items:
- Passenger door difficult to open. (it has secondary seals around the door.... PUSH harder!)
- Driver side indicator non functioning (failed earth at bulb).
- Driver headlight not functioning. (I rebuilt this afterward)

Good bits:
Window frames are solid.
Engine is strong
Clutch and gearbox are healthy
NO AB14!!!!!!!!!
Cloth interior and dashboard are in very good condition, one of the better interiors I have seen.
Cambelt change 18 months ago
Radiator changed a few years back
The interior does not leak
5 Previous owners
Upgraded SU fuel pump
All electrics work.

Bad bits:
Needs a full respray.
Needs a new windscreen due to delamination.
Exhaust boxes have seen better days at the flanges.
Power steering pipes are corroded and will require replacing in a few years.

I can send photos and video of vehicle running to any email address or to a mobile number. I currently can't use photobucket, it appears to not be working (too busy sending popups)

Traders and dealers do not bother contacting me, you will waste your time and mine as this is only to be advertised in certain circles.
The car can be arranged to be delivered at cost.
I would prefer to see it go to a loving new home.
£2600 as it stands or £3100 with a fresh MOT on it.

Given the condition as described, this sounds like an excellent deal, I hope it finds the home it deserves.

I can't get any of the images to load - is it my computer?

I think Photobucket has been having issues today. I've just tried logging in and they are down for maintenance.

i like the colour of the interior, would look good in my white car. I'm also jealous of all that hard standing and out buildings!

Needed the room in the outbuildings....still not big enough and I can start cleaning them up a bit now. You can never have enough space

The Red SE is due to be heading to a genuine chap in Belgium shortly.
