These are tatty and will require recovering. Does anyone know how they are removed please?

You need to remove the front header rail. IIRC, you should see the screws that hold it behind the visors as well as the ones that hold the mirror assembly. Be careful on the side sections - there are a couple of clips that should sit inside the door seal and can be tricky during the refit.
Once the rail is off, you can get to the visor mounts inside it.

Thanks for prompt advice. Took me a couple of minutes to decode IIRC (I thought first it was a technical term), so will probably have a go at this tomorrow

acronyms aside, I have recovered the half where white fabric had rotted away, with black faux leather (to match the other side). That means that a neat overlap is barely perceptible when they are down, and more so when it is sunny and they are needed. Very happy with the result and contrast with the head lining.

Glue failed in the sun.
Gave up on the existing visors, and got some new Ford items, indeterminate model as paperwork lost, and fitted them.
Fawn colour all round, slightly larger than I would like, but perfectly acceptable and a breath of fresh air

Good move, I fitted a pair of nice used visors in grey off a BMW E36 (I think). All I'm missing is the vanity light in the visors. No, it's not on my to do list.
