Spent an hour and a half today trying to get to the Fan Fail bulb as suggested by the handbook from underneath - whatever I do cant get one finger and one thumb onto the holder to turn it. Unscrewed the wooden panel around instruments but no way in there as far as I can see. I really dont want to dismantle the whole dashboard. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Marky.

As I have hands like shovels I'd never consider trying to do it from below the dashboard.
I'd just remove the wooden trim, remove the 4 screws that secure the metal plate to the dashboard, make enough slack in the speedo cable and pull the dash forward enough to either do the bulb then or undo the speedo cable and unclip the dash loom and then you have as much room as you'd like

Agreed - this is the "smart" way to do it. It also helps if you put the steering column height adjustment to its lowest setting.

Thanks for that - I also have hands like shovels! - sounds like a much better way of going about it.
