Speed sensitive windscreen wiper

For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Speed sensitive windscreen wiper

Post by AndyLotus »

Generally I've been impressed with the electric system on the Excel, especially after standing a while, however:

I did the new engines first oil change at the weekend as it's now done 500 miles. Also fitted an oil cooler thermostat at the same time. Anyhow, now I can use 4k rpm as my limit instead of 3.
Everytime I took the engine up to my self imposed redline the windscreen wiper performs 2 sweeps. :?

Very weird......
I don't think that's a design feature. :)

It's just wagging its finger at you during break-in.

I was hoping someone might say that: "that's the old whatsit doodah causing that, often happens at 4k rpm, what you need to do is......."

Ok it wasn't going to happen like that was it

Hi Andy, the car did this with me a couple of times when I owned it but not when it was running. I experienced it when jump starting the car after being stood. Never investigated it as it was so infrequent.
Cheers, ben
