I recall taking my S3 Esprit for an MOT test, having to stop (well, having to coast to the side of the road), pop out and utilise the fuel pump encouragement device to make it the next mile or so.

And there I was thinking I'd moved beyond this particular quirk when I sold my MGB and got an Excel instead. Time to think again!

Nice one Robert!
The PO of my Excel fitted the electronic version of the pump so hopefully the fuel pump encouragement device should not be required... However it's good to know one is available should I wish to give it a good "smite" anyway.....
