Low fuel / choke light.
My warning light keeps comming on and off when there is over 1/4 tank of fuel in the tank even when stationary, is this normal?

Not really - it sounds like your delay relay or level sensor may be faulty - does the gauge needle move around a lot under cornering ?

Yes the gauge seems to have a mind of its own, all over the place when driving.
Previuos owner replaced the float level assembly but without much effect.
I could always disconnect it as its very distracting.

My money would be on the delay unit then - worth popping it out and checking to see if there's corrosion inside (if there is, get ready to change some relays too)

Is that the relays that are on the drivers side footwell, I have already changed a couple down there, thay were very badly corroded.
Might have to pull them all out one by one and clean or replace, but at about £3.50 for the cheapest 4- pin got to be a worthwhile thing to do.
Sealing relays with silicone sealer might keep the damp out which seems to be causing the problems.
