Excel passenger window motor / switch

Hello,
I’m after some advice or to be pointed in the right direction as the passenger window on my Excel goes down but won’t go up again.
I've taken it to my local garage who tells me it’s the window Switch, but I’m not sure as the window does not go up on both the passenger door switch or the driver’s door switch, unless they both went at once !
I’ve had my Excel for over 10 years now and this is the first thing I have had go wrong with it.

Some advice on what the problem is and a place to go for parts will be gratefully received

What year is the car ?- there are two different switch types and 2 or 3 different motors.

Same year as mine. Good choice.

The switches are interconnected so if one fails it affects the other.

Simplest thing is probably to swap a known good switch with each one in turn (e.g. driver's window switch). The switches themselves are MG Montego/Maestro (green bulbs) and I have some spares if you are stuck.

All you need to do is pop the door cards off (screw in the middle of the door latch handle and three around the edges, then pull the bottom away from the door as you lift the card up) and you'll see the connectors for the switches in the card.

You are right, I swapped the switches around today and the window worked fine.
Can I get my hands on one of your spare switches? if so how much would you like for it?

I'll PM you this evening - after I've found them - they're in my big box of bits of Lotus - probably buried under spare tyres or a bumper.
