The Lotus Grand Tourers

is anyone else having problems with their boot lid ? Mine seems to be "de-laminating" at the points where the cross-brace structure should be attached.

I've tackled it before with Araldite, but it doesn't seem to be a long-term solution. Any thoughts on how best to re-attach ?

Side-note : when it has been re-attached the hinges seems to work much better, perhaps there is a CoG effect and the de-lamination is shifting it sufficiently to alter the balance point ?

Windscreen Bonder

Got hold of some "Wurth Bond and Seal" mastic-type stuff. Seems to have done the trick so far.

Hi - following the hot weather today I noticed that the nearside edge of the boot lid next to the hinge and rear window glass had lifted - when examined it can be seen that the top layer has pulled away from the lower section and support framing. It goes back down but seems to be spingy and when glued it will need to be clamped. Hopefully this can be done without damaging the paint finish. My concern is that what ever 'glue' I use it will not hold the outer layer down. When you repaired yours was the outer layer springing up?
Has the Wurth Bond and Seal worked?

The bond and seal is holding together pretty well so far - it sets into a nice rubber compound so there is some flex.

Rather than plain old clamps, I resorted to clothes pegs packed with cardboard on the leading edge to get even pressue and match the curve as closely as possible.
