The Lotus Grand Tourers

I'm currently working to try and resolve leaks into my footwells, the old girl is leaking when parked (and I'm guessing when driving too). Following guidance from many past threads the door seals have been changed and are watertight but blow me still water ingress; checked and re-sealed all the classic areas: windscreen wiper as many bulkhead points as I can see, the airbox in front of the screen is clear, hinges resealed etc! Having done this and lifted the carpets I got my son to spray the car from different angles with me upside down arse heavenwards torch in hand; no immedite sign of water but eventually i seem to be detecting water coming from behind the handbook pocket (drivers site by the gearbox hub. My best guess is to re-seal the windscreen wiper again (done), any other throughts on whence the water could be coming from? The one area i've not attempted to seal is the windscreen but there are no milky white tell tell signs on the glass. All thought gratefully received Graham

If your car has aircon, and it works, and you're using it, check that the condensate drain is free: It drains through the bulkhead just in front of the aircon evaporator housing (on '86 and later cars).

Any smell of antifreeze? - leaking heater core?

Again on 1986 and later cars the two M8 bolts that secure the heater box through the transmission tunnel are always covered in silicone mastic - might be worth looking at.

Are the oval grommets in place around the heater core inlet/outlet pipes?

gromits in the engine bay above the o/s engine mount where the -ve and +ve leads go through the inner wheelarch and or the purgepump (if Fitted)
