At the January meeting, despite me phoning Austins in advance and being assured that the bar would be open as usual on the 7th, upon arrival at 8pm we were greeted by locked doors. (This is not the first time that Austins has been closed on a Monday evening in the winter, or been unavailable to us ( summer cricket matches…)

Fortunately, I was able to let the regulars (!) know by phone, and we were able to meet at The Church Mouse.

Apologies to anyone in the club who arrived later than 8.45pm, but it is written in the newsletter about the alternative venue…!!!


At the meeting, we discussed changing the venue to The Church Mouse. The pub seems keen to have us meet there. They serve meals until late, the pub is always open until 11pm ( unlike Austins !!), and there are plenty of different areas & alcoves. The car park, although not quite as secluded as the Cricket Club, is visible from most of the pub seating. It is at the front of the pub in full view….( for those of us who sometimes bring a Lotus car to the Lotus Club meetings….!).


Anyway, we decided to change to the pub with immediate effect, for a trial period.

I've been asked not to post any further NE meetings on web sites.

Sorry if you were interested in future meetings the current members seem to dislike anything after 1972.
