The Lotus Grand Tourers

Can anyone give me an indication of how much I should budget to rebush the front and rear with poly bushes? (apart from the ARB with I will keep rubber)

I have been through the SJS price list and whilst there isn't a kit as such adding up the bits comes to >£250

Now I know a 1972 Series III Land Rover is not the same thing but when I did mine recently it was £35 for the complete set.

Am I adding it up wrong? I know I could call SJS and find out directly but I don't want to look a twerp when I say it sounds a bit expensive. With the Dampers and Springs from Mike Taylor this little project is turning into an expensive one Even the 40 odd new Nyloc nuts work out at nearly £20

for all your Nyloc nuts, bolts and fastners, I use them all the time and they are very helpfull and very cheep.

You could call Mike Taylor and see if he sells a kit for polybushes.

Theres a post in the archives from Peter Knibbs that says "I got mine from SJsportscars. Full set (top wishbone, lower link, and AR bushes) for the front cost £120 but that includes rubber for the lower link to AR bar as I'm told that poly is bad in this area. The front AR bush is purple and all the others are black colour. I do not know who makes them."

Mike had already told me that he couldn't help with the bushes and to go to SJS.

Avoid poly for the upper front wishbones, due to the way the space is, they tend not to be top hat design, and are straight bushes, which can allow the wishbones to move along the pivot, that's not good.

I'm sure Steve at SJ would confirm this.

£250 seems expensive.

When I put them in the Esprit I replaced the upper rear arms with rose joints to give fully adjustable camber (I needed 2 degrees less than I had), that didn't cost much more than the poly bushes alone would have been for those rods.
