Goodwood 6th October

Post by Derek Duncan »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Excel (and Elite and Eclat) owners are invited to the Club Elite Day at Goodwood on Saturday 6th October next.

Club Elite is the club for owners of the original Elites of the 1950s and 1960s, but they will welcome us as spectators. There'll be a space for our cars in the paddock, so everyone will be able to see other Elites, Eclats and Excels and also watch the fine little original Elites thundering round the track. It should be a fun day - come for as long or as short a time as you like. There's a restaurant by the track.

When to arrive at Goodwood on Saturday 6th October?

Any time, I think! I'm hoping to be there by 10.30 am. but it doesn't really matter. I thought I'd bring some traffic cones and use them to mark out parking spaces for "our" cars, if that will be possible.

I had in mind just meeting to natter, show off our cars and take some photos. And watch the "real" Elites on the track and in the paddock - they're a dinky little car which was an eye-opener in its day and which won lots of the races for its class. Any other ideas about what we could do?

The Breakfast Club sounds good - perhaps next year for me!

My Excel is maroon with A2 YLD on the plate.
