Has anyone ever...

Post by Ozzy_UK »

i know this may not be the "correct" thing to do to a classic but...

has anyone ever fitted an elise steering wheel to an excel?

if so is it pretty much a straight swap with the right adapter kit?

or am i destroying this classic?

advice appreciated...

If I am bored i could try this at home. If the splines are the same the wheel should fit, but think the Elise wheel is smaller and will further obscure the dials on the Excel.

You can definately get a Momo steering boss for the excel so if the elise wheel does not fit there is still plenty of choice.

I have a slightly smaller momo wheel in my excel and it is fine.

I would be surprised if the elise is the same as old toyota but you never know.

Momo wheels will fit straight on the G-Esprit boss - should be the same with the Excel boss, but could check tonight when I am back home...

MOMO Corse are nice wheels...

Just a thought . . . . would elise wheels bolt on to the Excel? They are both 4-stud pattern.

I found a brand new "personal" steering wheel, which i fitted, so should keep the purists happy, and i have a lovely new wheel.

thanks though guys!
