The odometer has stopped counting (as has the trip meter)

Has anyone had these appart to clean them ?

It's a VDO calibrated to 160mph.

Currently the speedo still working but I'm conerned it's a first symtom of more to come.

The VDO speedo back is crimped and is not serviceable. But expect the mileometer to run via a couple of plastic gears off the cable housing. These may have been tampered with (and weakened) by a previous owner in an attemtp to clock it!

At least if there are different inputs into the unit then I'm not in danger of losing speedo regestering how careful I'm being.

Hi all,
My speedo stopped working today after i went over a bump at road works.
It had been working OK.
Did you find out what was wronge with yours & fix it?
Any help you can offer ,or anyone else on the forum who knows how the fix or where the speedo cable connects too on the excel sa please.

"speedo" returns more hits than "speedometer".
Loads of advice & checks - but your cable has probably snapped
