Hi all,
this is my first post, got my excel at the end of October.
the wing mirrors are off Citroen CX year models around 75 to 80
they are like rocking horse poo to find anywhere and scrappers know their rarity, they are used on some surprising other sports cars including the Jag XK220

I just bought a second hand one from a Citroen dealer in Holland and OMG they know how to make a tidy profit £265 inc delivery :(
I suggest that if anyone happens to be in France and sees a scrapyard, try to take the time to look for spare mirrors on old CX cars -you never know - you could help a fellow owner one day!

Welcome to the forum Keith! Good to have you on here.

Regarding the mirrors, I agree with you about the Citroen mirrors as original figments. The car referred to above had non-original replacements fitted and the speculation was over what they were - presumably they were fitted exactly because the owner could not find any originals.

Cheers, Richard

Can't say I'm too keen on those Fiat mirrors. I think mirrors from modern cars tend to look too bulky for the Excel. Then again the O.E. Citroen CX mirrors are a hard act to follow - they have to be the best looking door mirrors ever. It's just a shame they suffer from Citroen build quality.

Welcome to the forum Keith, you'll find it invaluable for keeping your Excel in good order and the members are a friendly bunch
