Another carpet question..

Post by carlp »

Hi,
I keep on reading about people having 'issues' with carpet sets for their Excel from Coverdale. Had anybody tried another supplier and are they any better? I have a 97 SE and am looking to change the carpets as a 'winter' project!!

I have spent the weekend creating a new set of templates for the sections of the Coverdale carpets that are a poor fit. The shape and design being based on some photos I have been sent of factory carpets (thanks Kevin), Elite patterns from Coverdale and obviously the car itself.
I am expecting to get some new carpets to these templates. I will keep my other thread updated and show some photos of completed installation. Should also be posting some photos of templates on have made later tonight.
Hopefully, if these work, Coverdale will update their patterns for future purchasers.

Had mine from sjs 18 months ago. Not sure who supplies them but am delighted with the quality and no issues with fit for my 84 car. The only piece which needed to be trimmed a little was the rear shelf but found this very easy to do using the old shelf carpet as a pattern.
