Guys

I need to remove the instrument panel from our pre-SE car. Does anyone know if the wiring uses a multiplug to disconnect, or is it all individual wires?
Thanks.

Sorry, no multiplug. With the dash screws removed you need to do some imaginative fumbling to disconnect the speedometer cable, usual knurled ferrule behind the instrument but hard/impossible to see.
When undone the cables are loose enough to withdraw the dash for manipulation and then one of the best viewpoints is from outside and looking through the windscreen.
While in their John, if you can locate the voltage regulator I would be thrilled to know where it is, I could not find mine and still have to put up with bouncy fuel and temperature guages and that ticking noise from the regulator which reminds me that You could not find me!

Dave the cog.

I've found that removing the speedometer knurled ferrule is easier if I remove the speedo bulb first. On my car (1992 SE) the bulb just slips out, giving you much better access for unscrewing the speedo cable.
