I know this topic has been discussed before but my attempts to reactivate this thread havent led to any replies so here it is again....
My leather trim strip below the windscreen has suffered in the hot weather. Its4 stiffened and shrunk (which is not a good combination!). Its been fine for years but one Spring in the sun and a forgotten leather feed has seen it off. Even the temporary leather/ foam spacers I made to plug the corner gaps are now too small. Im feeding the leather (connelly hide food and autoglim leather balm) in the hope that it will soften and stretch back into place up the A pillars but the stuffing of the dash/windscreen finisher strip seems to be shrunk too. Has anyone tried to rehydrate or reinflate this? So far Ive not had much success. I cant think of anywhere that could supply a replacement but presumably any good trimmers could fix this if I fail? Any suggestions in the South East?
Thanks all.
Mike

I am in the need for the same piece. So, if someone knows a solution, I am in as well

Re: Dashboard to windscreen trim strip
Ours were scrap. We cut them out and made new ones from plumbers foam pipe lagging covered in matching coloured Vinyl. Might not be 100% original but look fine and MUCH better!!
Kind regards

Re: Dashboard to windscreen trim strip
Ours was so deteriorated it fell apart Mike, but to remove it just needs a sharp knife running along by the windscreen. On ours at least the leather was tucked under the bottom of the screen.
I'm away for two weeks now but if you PM me your email address, I'll send a couple of pics when I get back.
