HID Bi-Xenon Kit ...

For all those wiring gremlins we love, this is the place to discuss them.

Spit on a tissue and clean them occasionally, does that count?!

the washing requirement

Post by AndyC »

In all seriousness, we can get round that easily, it's the self levellingt hat's the issue.

Cleaning, have a "cleaning strip" of rubber on the inside of the void the pod goes down into, and a washing jet that puts the water on just before it goes up past it- it's a washing system.

Now how do we deal with headlight self levelling?

Took the plunge, got myselve a set of bixenons 4300K

I choose this colour because it gives the best light, is the most discreet and is the OEM colour when you buy a new car with factory equiped xenons.

I had to convert the supplied wiringloom so all power comes from the H4 connector
Beam pattern is OK but there is more "stray" light than I had hoped for, but no one has flashed at me so far.

Visibility is improved massively.

I had similar kit in my old second gen. Range Rover for 4 years and was very happy with them.
My daily Discovery 3 has them factory fitted and its hard to go back to halo's if you are used to xenons.

Oh and be carefull if you fitt them that the bonnet does not slamm shut with your hands behind the pods, the same happened to me as to Steve C and IT HURTS!!
If the Excel would have been all metal our hands would have been broken for shure.
I do have some cracks in my ego and far worse, there are some in the bonnet as a result to.
