I seem to recall that there are a number of washers and spacers ready to become disordered and lost when removing the seat belt anchors from the roll bar, but they should come out with the bolt with a little luck!

Thanks Angus and Si. I managed to remove the roll bar cover without loosening the seat belt bolts - the trick being to flex the roll bar cover in the middle rather than trying to force it out at the end. I'll still need to remove the seat belt anchors when I come to cover the pillar trims though.

Sorry to dig this thread up but I'm in need of a new headlining. I have had the Lotusbits performance exhaust fitted and a few other jobs whilst the car was with them but after 2 weeks of the car standing outside has caused the headlining to bubble and drop. It was previously very tidy. Has anyone on this forum used the headlining of another car to fit into their Excel as shown in the thread on thelotusforums ?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has, if so what car they used and whether they had to remove the Excel headlining or simply went over the top (well underside) of the original Lotus headlining.
Thanks
David

No - but a few of us have made up our own headlining panels and it works well.

Some suggestions towards the end of this thread : http://www.lotusexcel.net/phpbb/viewtop ... =14&t=7838 (and how not to do it at the start).
