Re: Lotus wheels library
Sorry Alan, S1, S2, and S2.2 Esprit all used 4 stud wheels, S1 "wolfrace" style, S2,S2.2 used, among others, the "iron cross, Speedline" style, 7"x14 front and 7.5"x14 rear. No idea of the PCD, 100 or 114. . Jeff.
Re: Lotus wheels library
Thak you both, I found out that S1, S2 and S3 had
front: 7" - 14" - with +30 et - PCD 100
rear: 7,5" - 14" - with -20 et - PCD 100
I hope this thread is usefull and that its info could be double check so we have a definitive reference guide.

Re: Lotus wheels library
The pcd on the Series 2 eclat and elite speedline is not 4x100mm.
It is very close, but it is 4x101.6mm which is an imperial pcd of 4x 4 inch.
It is 72mm between the centre of the nuts. 72/0.7071=101.8mm (which is 101.6mm without rounding = 4 x 4 inch imperial pcd)
I have the above on my eclat S2 (I knew it was an imperial pcd, so I just checked my car with digital calipers at 72mm between adjacent centres)
On my early excel, I have a similar looking wheel, but the pcd is 4x114.3, which is the same as the earlier eclat/elite, but has a different sized centre bore.

Re: Lotus wheels library
I can probably measure the centre bores and offset of both eclat and excel speedlines with my calipers, but will need a bit of time as I only have weekends.
Good project and well worthwhile. So many websites with the wrong info on our cars.

Re: Lotus wheels library
Mike Taylor threw a bit more light on this the other day, and I've checked the parts list. There are three different front hub assemblies listed for the Elite/Eclat:
1. All models with alloys other than S2.2s with Speedlines (A075C0124WC) (PCD 114.3)
2. S2.2 models with Speedlines (A082CA018F) (PCD 101.6 per Dunc's measurements above)
3. Eclats with steel wheels (A076C0151JH)
Elite S2.2s could have either GKN Turbines or Speedlines fitted, so could be fitted with either of two hubs.

The steel wheel was: 5,5J x 13 with tires 185/70x13;
Should we also add the torque settings for the wheels?
54NM for the GKN
88NM for the Speedline

Re: Lotus wheels library
Sorry Dunc - there are no PCD numbers in the parts catalogue, however the only ones I've heard of are 114.3 and 100, maybe there was something different for the S2.2 Speedlines?don.hasi wrote:richardw wrote: 2. S2.2 models with Speedlines (A082CA018F) (PCD 101.6 per Dunc's measurements above)
So I have to look how accurate my measuring equipment is....
I don't suppose anyone's going to get any made!

Re: Lotus wheels library
Just realised that the offset is printed on my wheels so I can fill in a blank in Elite's list above as follows:
Excel gen 1 Speedline (Iron Cross) (pic no 4): ET=18
