You can tilt the window frame relative to the door beam by adding or removing washers if the widow is hitting the seal first.
To do this you will probably need to take the whole door apart though......but it's better than bending the frame and risking breaking it.

IIRC you can also move the door shell relative to the beam and the lock mechanism as the holes in the shell are somewhat oval - or could be made oval.

I gave up trying to adjust the striker as I couldn't move the bolts.

To add to what Bill said. Ifyou remove the interior door trim - interior door handle screw and a few screws around the outside, you can then remove the 2 parge plastic covers to get to the inside of the door. The window frame is bolted to the door beam by long bolts - I think 5 from memory. The angle of the window frame is set by washers behind these. Add or remove washers a/r but check that the window still goes up and down as I found it was easy to slighlty distort the frame and teh window stopped moving easily.

Worth checking the bottom of the door beam for holes whilst you do this. Both of mine were rusted through which wasn't helping the sealing of the door.

Thank you all for your warnings. I hope I will do the things right....

For so long, I have fixed the problem in a practical way:

There is only very little force needed to shut the door, from the outside, when I have the door very near to the seal, you could do it with only two fingers on the right place -over the door lock- and the door is shut

The inner door handle instead is to much in the front of the hinge... BUT, if you use your left hand on the top of the door cover at the outer edge, you could do it with the same power. interesting... if you use more power, more gap... it doesn´t work the Lady will be handled smooth and stringent...



The gap you see, is all which is needed to close the door secure... with two fingers

Thanks for your help... I will have a look, for further adjusting, when I dismantle the door in the future... I think this is the way of driving a Lotus... do the things, when you will come along.... until this moment... drive like you have stolen it
