Graham thingy (forgotten his last name) used Millers 10/60 years ago and was very happy with it. (You might find his posts if you do a forum search on Millers (also look in the archive thread from the old forum too).
BTW less oil consumption is expected with the Castrol (or Millers) due to the higher hot viscosity and so logically a 60 grade should be better than a 50. But all depends on the degree of engine wear and oil temperature control ... if ANY oil gets too hot then the engine will use more oil as it finds it's way past rings and guides more easily. Not to forget losses due to oil leaks too and if crankcase pressure is high in a worn engine then a 60 grade may get blown out more easily when thick and cold ....but then that's counter balanced by the thicker grade staying engine-side of part worn seals. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
My engine is relatively low mileage @ 55k but even a brand new 912 will still consume some oil due to the wider tolerances used on engine build. Similarly, a carb based engine will run rich from time to time and this will tend to help increase oil consumption too. Moderns have the benefit of Lambda 1.0 control and tighter tolerances so can use oils as thin as 30 grade with negligible oil consumption and they stay clean for much longer.

I use Millers 10/60 in my Esprit and very happy with it, never had to top up in 4k miles, still golden, and a bit quieter I think (may be a placebo effect)
Conversely my Elite sounded like a bag of spanners with Mobil 1, will be switching to 20/50 dinosaur juice asap.
