Yellow Lotus Excel

Post by Miamerl »

Ive got a yellow excel. Picked the colour deliberatedly as I thought it looked amazing. Guess its not a macho colour for the guys, but as a LAYDEEE its perfect. As she is an 82 model, and therefore one of the first off the production line, I guess it may be the very first yellow excel made? I didnt realise that so few were coloured yellow, but I always like to be different and stand out from the crowd. She has a black badge, 62k on the clock, and is very dearly loved.

Chris,

I'm being really retentive on this.

That Silver Excel has the correct bonnet but not rear wing for the year.

Yellow Elites are one of my favourites. If I had the room for a collection I'd be looking for a nice yellow 78/79 501 Elite with full leather. Might put an SE engine in it mind you.

Way back I used to own a black "JPS-style" 77 Elite but would have much preferred yellow....looks great with black bumpers and bonnet grille.

Yellow is a colour that tends to look OK on most Lotus cars IMHO.
