by cutting them to lower it mostly likely as that constitutes a broken spring and failure if the ends are not correctly refinished to sit correctly on the spring seats

Hi i owned that car for 5 years thats my reg GAZ5356 i sold it to a guy in Aberdeen on aroundc 2010 he worked for Figeru in the bridge of don and he stayed in Airyhall.
I left my number with him and said if he ever sold it i would buy it back but i havent seen or heard until now.
I bought it from a guy in Doller just past Elgin it was in a awful state a non runner .
Fitted new fuel pump,brakes all round ,brake master cyl,timing belt,water pump,power steering pipes ,new radiator,new elec motors for headlights,bits of paint,and cleaned and redone the headling and fitted new clutch.
Wonderfull car after that i used it every week that was my 3rd one i had 2 red excels also.
I would be intrigued to were it is also.

Broken springs usually occur from being sat for extended periods without moving. When they finally move and start compressing again is when they pop. The number of failed springs on cars after COVID was off the chart as people had not been moving their cars for extended periods and then they suddenly got used as normal.

86-87 SEs have badge on the door pillars.
Both Green and Gold (Wickens style Crimbo puddings) and Black and Gold. One badge either side and one in the bonnet.

I thought this Silver one was in Alford for a long time.

My 86 se hasn't got the b pillar badges.
