Steel blue looks grey in some lights and purple in others.....it doesn't look blue EVER.

My Excel is Chrysler steel blue, a metallic colour that has never looked purple in any light in over 10 years of ownership. It definitely looks a dark greyish blue and has never looked black as does the car in the photo's. I guess it is down to our individual perception of colour.

Forever disagreeing with the wife over the
description/nomenclature of
blue and
purple hints, tints and shades that are on the margin. Same for
blues/
greens/
turquoise/
teals.
Personally, as a rule of thumb, I
like blue, but
universally dislike all blues that are close to the margin with
purple. But I don't feel the same about the margin between
blue and
green- all of them appeal.
I'm sure a psychiatrist would understand why!
...or maybe not care?

On the other hand you yourself could be one of the 10% - you
see yours as green but it's really blue... or maybe it's pink?
I know mine's not blue....at least it states it isn't below my avatar.

Contacted seller, says oil pressure is fine once warmed up, (engine only running 5 mins when photo taken) or accelerator is pressed, says dodgy gauge as everything fine if external gauge used.
Also says PNM owned car for some time and so all work needed was done and to a high standard.
Got impression would come down a bit on price but not by a lot.
Trying to decide if worth a 2 hour trip to North Wales to view.
Think will most likely head to Northampton to view one there first which sounds more promising and more realistically priced.

Oil Pressure should be high when engine is cold. Low when engine is hot.
I'm not sure PNM did any work on it as I understood that they were selling it for someone else.
My friend who went to see it in December was not impressed by it.

He says PNM owned car for many years, also got clarification, I think, about body damage causing MOT failure says was plastic trim piece that was broken and sticking out.
Love that blue/grey colour.
"odd cheaper one out there for sale but with respect this one has been owned and looked after by PNM lotus for many years who is well respected in the UK lotus circles"
Starting to think too many unknowns and misinformation on this, so probably one to stay clear of.

Based on the info given I would say tread carefully.
Here is Mildred....

I struggle to see this as blue as it is too far down the spectrum.
Looks even more purple in daylight.
Has been under cover for over 15 years with original paint in good order except for a light lacquer lift on a light pod.

When a response contains "with respect" it usually means 'you must respect me'.
The oil pressure is low = end of.
If I was expecting over £11K, I'd at least fit a new oil pressure gauge if I'd found a significant differnce with an external gauge.

It's back on at £8750. (Don't know how to do links on the iPad). Is it me or is the front, nearside wing a different shade from the rest of the car?
