Thanks Pete - What are you going to do with your lights on the Elite? Mine are 29 years old so yours must be just as bad?
Mine are 43 yrs old

(still not as old as me though - 60 today!

). The headlight reflectors are completely shot, but I haven't looked at the rear lights yet - might take them off this afternoon and have a look! Be interested to see the results of your refurb. Are you just doing one side to compare before doing the other?

Thank you very much! So disappointed I can't get the winter fuel allowance yet - would have paid for a gasket set!!

It must have had a purpose on the Rover SD1, from which the light clusters are borrowed, with Lotus felt was not necessary to their requirements.

Tail lights. SD1 had separate bulbs and reflectors for brake & tail. Lotus decided to make it combined stop & tail.

Both sides are now done and do look brighter - will take a photo when I get a chance.
