I learnt this week that Lotus actually provided a bespoke clip for the sun visor.
Previously I thought all cars left the factory with a short, flat steel comb, neatly cut in two, then tucked into the cant rail
I thought this design was quite neat - and very typically Lotus / Chapman. It uses the twist of the cant rail trim to act as a spring, allowing the visor to slide past when raised, and to drop you just push where the arrow is, and as we all know, the visor then falls under gravity. Beautiful.
Has anyone got a spare pair? - Rocking horse **** I can hear you all saying, so more realistically, anyone with a car that has them and the rest of the car is not standard, would they be prepared for a swop if I modelled a couple in Aluminium in exchange?

Re: Early car sun visor clips
This is one of mine (don't think I have spares but I'll have a look):
There is a single self tapper holding it on. Is the arrow on yours original or has someone stuck it on later? I'm not sure if the corduroy covering is original - I think not.

The photo is from Neil's car and the arrow looked original, but can't sure.
Definitely agree you're cord covering looks none standard. Think standard would be the same as the roof cover.
When convenient, would appreciate it if you could post the key dimensions of the widget. I've got a feeling I'm going to be marking a couple.
