Give it full throttle in 2nd and the pedal sticks on overmat
But for the couple of seconds that it was bouncing off the rev limiter it sounded like an F1 car in the pits
Other point to note, as I have never taken it above 6000, is how bloody quick it gets to 7000
BTW overmat is now fastened to seat mounting to stop it moving forward.
I now know my rev limiter works!

Some of them are just driving a racing car but some are racing drivers.

Steve,
Yes they do go very nicely over 6k, to nicely when the pedals stuck
Years ago I worked in motor racing so am very, very careful about oil and water temps before enjoying the full vocal/speed of any car!
Stefan,
How long does it take to warm up your car in the morning?
It takes miles & miles here and it not even reached freezing yet!

When told of the nightmares that can happen with mats that are not fastened down by Gerald Turner, I removed my rubber Halfords mat.
Also worth noting that whist your rev limiter may cut in if the throttle is on hard and you are not in gear with clutch engaged, the revs will continue to climb beyond rev limiter cut out and can still seriously screw up your engine!
Therefore the advise is, if your drivers side mat is not fastened down in front of, under and behind the peddles, then permanently remove it. Securing to the seat is probably not enough!
