Im just replacing a window frame and the piece of draught proofing foam that should be stuck to the glass has given up. Seeing as it seems to also be good at soaking up water I was wondering if anyone had used an alternative.

Re: Window sponge ?
Same as above. Have you got a picture of the foam attached to the glass?
Cheers, Phil

Re: Window sponge ?
I'll be the 3rd to say I don't know of foam bonded to the glass.
My Elite had a 50mm square foam section packed around the door beam to 'seal' to the door shell fibre glass near the hinge end. Did a wonderful job of aiding door beam corrosion.
I have a plastic sheet bonded to the outside of the glass bottom edge on the Excel, presumably to guide water that gets past the window seal to the lower areas of the door shell.

Re: Window sponge ?
my 1990 has the window sponge.
it sits inside the door just below the quarter light ?
im not sure what its precise purpose is, but at a guess i can imagine it is to prevent condensation running down and sitting on the beam. as we all know the beam is highly vulnerable to rotting just at that point due to the angle it is at.
