The AVOs came from Lotusbits. The Eibachs have standard OEM values, I recall about 350 lb as I have an SA which is heavier.

The bushes were PWX13138 Powerflex Universal Kit Car Bush Caterham Type, 38mm Long, 1/2" Bolt PF99-115-12.7, from TempleTuning.

However, AVO have changed the eye mount on their Shocks so you will need to check measure that if you go that way.

well I got the instrument cluster lose today, it was somehow stuck but the only thing holding it wa the two tabs on the pictures. Mostly it just demanded enogh force wich I earlyer was reluctant to applie in the fear of breaking something.

Now that I got it out and messured the voltage to the dash lamps it was at 7 volt. I tried the dimmer but when pushed over themud point it went to zero so it seems the dimmer switch is shot. The Dimmer swtch looks like some I seen on some Triumphs was it a TR6 or somthing is that right?.

By the way I have two dimmer knobs what is the other one fore as turning the left one does nothing.

I think you are correct as the elite and early eclat had many TR switches

I got the center panel of today and now I can change the switches. One of the optik cables had broken of from the switch and the metal insert was stuck in the switch whit small pice of optik cable so I Have to fix that to. I had a bit of a bad feeling what kind of electricsl mess I would find here but except for the stereo cables everything was pretty good and stock. Some one had messed around in the enginebay and it had been done with the colorful ABIKO connecrors wich I think should be an criminal offence but lukyli nothing like that inside the
dash. Just have to wait for the part I ordered to get it back togather. I will also use the opportunity to put a more functional stereo in. What stereo did the 83 Excel come with from the factory if I would like to source an orginal.

For now I have to stereos at home to chose from a Basic modern Sony and 89 Blaupunkt. Both are better than what came with the car but neither is correct but the Blaupunkt is the right era, I just had purchsed it for my 89 Oettinger IC syncro so it will mostlikely go ther but if I would now put it here on the otherhand I would not need to disassemble this any more when I get it back togather.

I once again put the pictures on the lotus foorum.

Hi Osku , My car is a 1st. Jan 1983 and is fitted with a Kenwood radio tape face/front off type with four
speakers but i cant' vouch if it was factory supplied or not

TNX for info of one car. What do the rest of the folks have?
My car had a crappy noname usb stereo and deasent Alpine speakers. I do not think the Alpine speakers either are orginal, but if other people also would have Alpine in their car then we could compare if they are the same.

What year is your car. There's some detail in the parts list.

Motorola 'Lotus'. A089M6027F

Then from 87 onwards, details are given of Clarion units.

Now that I'. m at it tell me where is the fibreoptics projector lamp located as my do not give any light so the bolb or projector must be shut. I just do not know where it is.

I've edited earlier post on radio types and added the part numbers.
Logic would suggest the earlier radios are the lower numbers.
2 numbers are sequential, which suggests to me this may have been an option upgrade
One is an 082 model number, so obviously shared with another model. Sure someone here will know what model 082 is. If this model was released after your car, that eliminates one of your options.
Maybe Google the rest and find out period they were manufactured.

No further info in the parts list.

I 'm finaly making sens of this, some previouse owner had made some own connections when the left dimmer switch had gon bad and connected it to be operated by the stereo ignition lock power I removed that and now it should work just fine with the newdimmer switches. I still have to look into the orojector lamp problem but I got it running when ooking on the lead that goes to the lamp and either the lamp bottom is iffi or the lead is broken there about
