New owner

Pleased to announce that I’ve just bought a Lotus Excel SE 1990, having spent the last year viewing various cars, including a very pleasant trip to Malaga.
Regards
Clive (cthomp32)

Welcome Clive! Great to see you on here and we look forward to seeing and hearing more from you and your car. There are plenty of people here who can help on any issues or niggles you may have but otherwise sit back and enjoy your car. Excels are superb grand tourers.

Cheers, Richard

Welcome Clive. Like you, I'm a recent newbie to the world of Excel ownership. Mine's a 92 MY. One of the last. Bit of a running restoration, but at least it's on the road, not like my Elite that's on a 30 year plus restoration journey.

I’ve finally worked out how to upload pictures using an iPad only......not the simplest of tasks!
So here is my new purchase, but unfortunately it’s stuck up in Yorkshire due to Covid lockdown restrictions.
Once I’ve collected it I’ll post some more photos and get stuck into fixing the few issues it’s got, which aren’t many:
Electric mirrors not working
Door hinge bush play
Rear seat belt mounting corrosion
I’m sure there will be a few others.

Car ownership is an essential task for getting to work. You are well in your rights to collect. I just did 250 miles for an MOT - also essential

Don't go upsetting him Stu - he's only just joined us - he doesn't know you yet!

Yeah go get it. Just make sure they fill it up for you - might save you getting CoVID from the petrol stations up here!

Good colour on a late model.

Reminds me of Angus' car - only it looks in better nick! Sorry Angus.

That's a real mix of cars / motorbikes for sale in the background Clive.
Was it a dealer who just didn't know what he liked, or a collection being sold off?

It was a commission sale on behalf of an old boy who was reducing the number of cars in his collection of 30+ cars.
The dealer is Themotorist.com, really nice people and great place to wander around. They have car events most weekends in normal times.
