Oliver Winterbottom
For around the last 5 weeks, Oliver has been recovering from a heart op - initially at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge where the op was carried out, and latterly at Norwich Hospital. He has been quite poorly but is now sufficiently recovered to be bored and wanting to leave hospital (although he's not yet ready to do so!) As those who know him may understand, he is not a man who wants any kind of a fuss to be made and so hasn't wanted people to know of his condition, but now that he's feeling better I would like to propose that the Club sends him a card, jointly with the TLF Elite/Eclat/Excel folks.
If you would like your name to appear on the card, please let me know either on this thread or via email - my message box is full and last time I tried I got an error trying to empty it, so I won't see any pm's. If you want a different name to appear than the name you use here then include that also.
I'll aim to order a Moonpig card on Wednesday evening, which should get to him by the beginning of next week.
If you'd like to send him a personal card then email me for the hospital and ward details.
Good luck Oliver!
Cheers, Richard
PS I understand that he does not particularly like being called 'Ollie' so use Oliver if you need to!

Re: Oliver Winterbottom
Please add my name: Tony Poll.
I've spent quite a few hours chatting with Oliver at the last couple of Dijon L'Age D'Or classic car weekends. (This is usually held early June, but of course has been cancelled this year).
Oliver is always good company, and was made very welcome at the Club Lotus France on each occasion.
Wish him well, and let's hope we can meet up at Dijon next year.

Thanks Tony, I remember you telling me about the trip! Indeed, let's hope he'll be well enough next year. Your name will be on the card.

Re: Oliver Winterbottom
Hi Richard, please can you add Bryan Barker (the Club Lotus Avon slide show man!) to the card. I've had the pleasure of meeting Oliver 3 times, twice at the Club Lotus Avon meetings where he gave fascinating and humourous talks (and I managed to overcome some IT issues to get his slide show working, I think think you were there, in fact...) and also while he was admiring a yellow Elite at the Lotus 70 celebration. Thank you.

a speedy recovery to a great Man.
The Lotus Eclat, a lot like the English Whisky company: comes from Norfolk and better than you are often told it is.

Re: Oliver Winterbottom
Hi Richard,
Could you add me too - Alan McKenzie. Hope he has a speedy recovery. I’ve certainly enjoyed meeting him, I think 3 times, on the club stand at NEC and the last couple of times at the Club Lotus Avon meetings. An excellent raconteur.

Me too please Richard. I can't claim to know Oliver but I did enjoy chatting with him a few years ago.
