Which power steering fluid should I use in my 1989 Excel? As it's a RWD Sierra Cosworth steering rack, is it fine to use Ford Power Steering Fluid from Halfords?
Many thanks.

Re: Which Power Steering Fluid to Use?
I have to ask it again: Is Dexron II or Dexron III any good? And how much is needed for a complete refill?
Thanks in advance

when my reservoir gets low enough i will be using Lucas power steering stop leak, you can use it as the fluid and it guarantees curing any rough spots or leaks or your money back....................................... ...............and aint to pricey

I used that about this time last year and it seemed to have the desired effect - got rid of a slight bit of play. The steering was a little bit stiffer though for a while.

And it works - before my rack was refurbished during the engine rebuild, I was running a long-term test on it - a quick search should produce the thread.
