Lotus in the Peak 2020 10th - 12th July

Post by shaunw »

LITP 2020 tickets are now available from the MLOC store.
For a change this year I'm considering doing the classic run. Ive done the intermediate runs in previous years and for the first two years it was great, fast enough to be exciting but not so fast that I was constantly struggling foot to the floor to keep up. Unfortunately for the last three years the group leader has either been in an Exige or an Evora and seems to have been determined to demonstrate their superior handling and power. I like a spirted blast but two hours flat out gets a bit much ( maybe I'm getting old  ). Also i Iike the idea of following some Lotus classics for a change rather than and endless line of Elises.

I cant remember if any of our group has done the classic run, but if you did what was it like? Spirited are just slow? Better scenery or much the same?

What are peoples thoughts on trying the classic run this year?

Shaun

After a superfast Medium run in 2018 Claire and I opted to do the Slow run in 2019 and found it enjoyable. If I remember correctly I think the Classic run is a shorter route than the Fast, Medium and Slow runs. I've been refused the weekend off work so we'll not be able to make it to this year's event.

Looks like Kev Jerry and Phil are all going to give the classic run a try this year. It starts at Hassop so Jerry and I are currently looking for a suitable place to stay.

I've booked on the classic run. Looking forward to the extra hour in bed 8) Didn't book a breakfast after all the queuing last year. Seemed it might be quicker to go to the other counter and just order one. Looking forward to it.
Cheers, Phil

Jerry, Di, Carol and I are booked into Bagshaw Hall in Bakewell. There are still rooms available but from what I can make out they will get taken pretty quickly.

We are booked into the YHA at Hartington Hall, near the Charles Cotton hotel for the Friday night BBQ. There are premium rooms at the YHA, it's not all dormitories!
