My bootlid must have delaminated slightly as I seem to get water ingress into the gap between the outer and inner layers. I know that I can drill some holes to let the water out but that just feels like too much of a bodge to me. I assume there must be a very small crack somewhere around the leading edge which is letting the water seep in.
Question is does anyone know of anything I can squirt in there (through the hinge bracket bolt holes) to seal that up from the inside? Obviously it has got to be as thin as water to get carried to the actual area of the leak.
What to seal bootlid with to prevent water getting in?

If the crack isn't visible, you could try some Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure. It's worked well for me on small & hard to find leaks from the rear window seal. If the crack is visible, try something like TigerSeal or Wurth Bond & Seal and clamp it until the sealant goes off.

If you can't fix it I've got a spare - depending on which spoiler you have (holes in different places I think).

Captain Tolley's is a good idea, I had forgotten about that, haven't used it for years.amarshall wrote:If the crack isn't visible, you could try some Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure. Guess the first thing is to remove the bootlid and squirt a bit of water in there to see where it comes out from.

Pretty sure mine is a mid-eighties one - it's in the loft - I'll dig it out and remind myself!

Think this is finally solved. Tried Capt Tolleys Creeping Craks cure which I thought had worked for a while but eventually leak came back again. Have now dribbled Gorrilla Supperglue into the tiny cracks around the leading edge and that seems to have worked, at least for the moment.
