I don't need these anymore as a very nice guy contacted me and said he knows someone with a 3D printer that might be able to make them for me.

He kept in contact with me on and off for about 6 weeks, as the first ones he had made came to him in white. He said he would go back and ask if he could have them in black.

I was in no hurry for these as I have a lot of work replacing all the front and back brakes and suspension which look a little bit rusty mind you the car is 28 years old.

I kept offering to pay him something for all the time and effort he had gone to getting these trim end pieces made.

Today I had a great surprize when the postman came and delivered 2 trim end pieces which I wasn't expecting that look very good.

Once again I can't thank him enough and that has pushed my thinking even higher that there are lots of people out there willing to help others out especially with classic cars.

Crikey 28 years old! You've got 12 years until you get free tax and MOT

The end caps sound excellent.

I think if you could hold off fitting them and let our aficionado have a scoopy at them, the committee might like to do a deal with the nice man

I will still get it a MOT even then for my safety and for other road users, as I totally disagree with the new rules. But that is a all new topic.

Anyway at 80 years old I very much doubt if I will have the eye sight let alone a licence to drive it.

As for what you asked about letting the aficionados know I think they already know who supplied them to me.

This was how my early '83 model was, but I replaced the later midline trim with the end cap type, a much neater alternative.
